Centrifugally Cast Rings — Hub, Drum, Bearing and Wear Rings

Cast iron, SG iron and stainless steel rings made to your drawing

ISO 9001:2015 Certified — Certificate No. QM00524000000165

Jaidarshan Indocraft Pvt. Ltd. has been centrifugally casting cylindrical components in Ahmedabad since 1975. Alongside our cylinder liner range we produce rings — the same process and the same metallurgy, cut to a different proportion.

A ring is a short section of centrifugally cast tube. That is precisely why it is worth buying from a spinning foundry rather than a sand foundry: there is no core, no parting line, and no cope-and-drag mismatch to machine away. The wall is concentric as cast.

To us it is simply a ring. To you it may be a hub ring, a wear ring, a bearing blank or a spacer — the part is the same, and we make all of them.

What Buyers Call This Part

The same plain cylindrical ring carries a different name in every industry. If your part is on this list, or resembles anything on it, we can cast it.

Size Range

Bore (ID)34 mm to 355 mm
Outer diameter (OD)38 mm to 378 mm
Length / height13 mm to 60 mm as standard
Wall thickness2.0 mm to 11.5 mm

Sizes outside this range are produced to requirement — our centrifugal line runs to 400 mm ID and 500 mm OD, and our machining capacity extends to 650 mm length.

Sizes From Current Production

These are live sizes, not a fixed catalogue. Anything between and beyond them is made to order.

Composition is adjusted to your specification and verified in our in-house metallurgy laboratory on a Hitachi spectrometer, with microstructure checked on a metallurgical microscope. A test certificate accompanies every batch on request.

Machining and Finish

We supply rings at three levels of finish. Tell us which you want and we quote accordingly.

As castStraight from the die, parted to length. For customers who machine in-house.
Proof machinedStandard on the larger diameters. OD and bore cleaned up on VTL, faces squared, adequate stock left for your finish operation.
OD grindAvailable on the smaller rings where a close OD tolerance is needed for a press or shrink fit.

Bore honing and face grinding are available on request.

Why Centrifugal Casting Suits a Ring

No core, no parting lineThe bore is formed by rotation, not by a core. Nothing to machine out, nothing to mismatch.
Dense, uniform wallMetal is thrown against the die at speed. The wall is free of the porosity and blow holes that spoil a finished running surface.
Impurities migrate to the boreLighter slag and oxides move inward during solidification and are removed in the first boring cut.
Thin walls are achievable2 mm walls at small diameters are routine here and impractical in sand.
Cast long, parted shortRings are parted from a longer spun tube, so a batch is metallurgically identical piece to piece and the yield is high.
Concentric as castLess stock to remove, which matters most on the thin-wall sizes.

How to Order

Send any one of the following and we will come back with a quotation:

  • a drawing — PDF, DWG, or a clear photograph of a dimensioned sketch
  • a physical sample
  • bore, OD, length and material, plus the finish you need

Useful to include: the application, quantity per size, annual requirement, and any tolerance or hardness that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a cylinder ring the same as a piston ring?
No. A piston ring is a split, sprung sealing ring that sits in a piston groove. The rings on this page are solid, unsplit cylindrical components used as hub rings, wear rings, bearing blanks and spacers. We do not manufacture piston rings.

What is the smallest ring you can make?
Current production runs down to 34 mm bore with a 2.0 mm wall. Smaller is possible depending on wall thickness and quantity — send the drawing and we will tell you.

Can you match an existing ring if I have no drawing?
Yes. Send a sample. We measure it, confirm the material by spectrometer, and quote against that.

Do you supply rings finished, or only as castings?
Both. As cast, proof machined, or OD grind. State what you need on the enquiry.

Which material should I choose?
Grey cast iron for wear and damping. SG iron where the ring sees shock or impact. Stainless 316 where corrosion is the problem, 410 where hardness and erosion resistance matter. If you are unsure, tell us the application and we will advise.

Do you supply a test certificate?
Yes, on request — chemical composition and mechanical properties from our in-house laboratory.

What is your minimum order quantity?
100 pieces per size.
